HEA operates within a structured governance framework that supports academic quality, regulatory compliance, and effective institutional oversight.
Board of Directors
The Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of HEA and ensuring the institution fulfils its legal, regulatory, financial, and ethical obligations. The Board oversees institutional performance, sustainability, and risk management.

Academic Board
The Academic Board is the principal academic governance body, responsible for oversight of academic quality, learning and teaching, assessment standards, academic integrity, and scholarly activity. The Academic Board establishes committees to support its work and ensures alignment with regulatory requirements.

Committees
HEA’s committee structure supports the Board of Directors and Academic Board in overseeing academic quality, course relevance, risk and compliance.
The Learning, Teaching, Scholarship and Course Advisory Committee provides advice on learning and teaching, scholarly practice, and the ongoing development and review of courses. The committee supports continuous improvement and ensures alignment with national higher education standards.
The Audit and Risk Committee supports the governing body by providing oversight of the institution’s risk management, compliance, and internal control frameworks. The Committee assists in monitoring institutional risks and regulatory obligations and supports the maintenance of sound governance and accountability practices across the institution.
HEA is supported by qualified and experienced leaders and staff responsible for the delivery, oversight, and continuous improvement of academic programs.
