Student Voice and Representation
HEA values student voice and recognises the importance of student involvement in shaping the learning experience and broader student community.
Students come from diverse backgrounds and bring a range of perspectives, experiences, and ideas. Opportunities are provided for students to share feedback, raise concerns, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of academic and student life.
Student Representation
Student representation provides a formal way for students to communicate their views on academic and student experience matters.
HEA has a Student Engagement Group that provides students with opportunities to connect, share ideas, and contribute to student life.
All students are welcome to join the Student Engagement Group as members. Students who are interested in getting involved can contact Student Services for further information.
What is a student representative?
Student representatives act as a link between students and the institution, raising issues, sharing feedback, and contributing to discussions that support a positive and inclusive student experience.
Student representation is intended to:
- Represent student views on academic and student experience matters
- Provide a forum for students to raise ideas, concerns, and suggestions
- Support communication between students and the institution
- Contribute to continuous improvement of courses, services, and campus life
- Encourage student engagement and participation in HEA community
Student Engagement and Activities
Students may have opportunities to participate in social, cultural, and community activities that support connection and engagement.
These activities may include:
- Student-led events and initiatives
- Orientation and welcoming activities for new students
- Opportunities to celebrate cultural diversity
- Informal social and networking activities
Participation in student activities is voluntary and open to all students.
